Mental health in Trinidad and Tobago

The most commonly diagnosed mental health illnesses in Trinidad and Tobago are schizophrenia and mood disorders.
Neuropsychiatric disorders contributed an estimated 17.1 per cent of the global burden of disease in 2008. The suicide rate for males is 20.4 per 100,000 people, and for females, four per 100,000 people (2011).
